Most of the people know gold is yellow, that is the natural colour.
I am gold carat conscious woman; some people do not care about the real contents of gold Hey it does not matter gold is gold.
But I do care about gold carat.
So today I will talk about gold part 1.
Gold has so many different carats weight.
In UK and Australia 9 CT gold is popular which 37.5% of gold contents rest of it is nickel, silver etc. This material hallmarked as 9 CT, 9k or 375. Colour of the gold is dull yellow. Also 9 CT gold is hard and durable.
Popular gold in USA is 14 CT gold contains 58.5 % gold and rest of it are same as 9 CT gold. Hallmarked as 14 CT 14k or 585.
EU and Japan 18 CT gold is must! 75% gold contents, marked as 18 CT, 18k or 750. 18 CT gold is most suitable to set gemstones.
The gold higher than 20 CT is too soft to set the stone they are suitable for chains or bangles or bracelet. If you have gold higher than 20ct gold you will notice the gold will stretch time to time, because they have higher contents of gold.
Southeast Asian people and some part of Chinese love 22CT or 24 CT gold. They like the value of the gold as asset not as jewellery value. 22 CT gold marked 916 as 91,6% gold. 24 CT gold is almost pure gold. Marked 999 as 99.9% gold contents. The gold higher than 20ct colour is bright yellow. Looks almost fake gold.
I don’t like the colour of 22 or 24 CT gold. But this is my opinion.
Oh, I have forgot to tell you, 22 or 24 CT gold chain or bracelet does not have a normal clasp, they have a hook to hold into it.
Recently 10 CT gold is popular for younger generation all over the world. 10 CT gold is little more gold contents than 9ct gold, 41.7% gold. Hallmarked 10ct.10k and 417. Popular designer jewellery tends to use 10ct gold, coz it is affordable for younger generation.
Okay this is about gold.
So which gold do you like, or you do not really care?
I still love 18 CT gold for myself.
Sometime in the future I will talk about colour of gold.
Till then be good.
